Your portal has a public sign-up link. Anyone who opens it can create an account and join your hub as a client, without you adding them first, so you can put it on your website or in a campaign.

  1. Open the sign-up settings

In Settings › General, find the User Signup & Inquiry card.

  2. Allow sign-up

Switch on Allow Signup. It's on for a new hub. Anyone with an account who opens your portal's address can then join too, so switch it off if only people you add should get in.

  3. Switch on Allow Client to Start Inquiry to have the link open the inquiry form once they've signed in, for people who want to ask you something first. Off, it opens your portal's home page.

  4. Choose Copy beside Public User Signup link, and share it. Copy it again after changing Allow Client to Start Inquiry, since the link changes with it.

Only Admins can change the two switches.

What happens next

A newcomer types their email address or mobile number, enters the code sent to it and their name, and lands in your portal as a client. Someone who already has an account signs in as usual. They see your announcements and can send you an inquiryInquiry A question or request sent to the firm through the portal, kept open until someone closes it., but have no case until you add them to one. If you require onboarding forms, they're asked for them like anyone you add; see Require clients to complete intake forms.

Someone who signs up with a mobile number has no email address on file until they add one to their profile, so your hub's messages reach them by text meanwhile.

They join your Users list like anyone you add, and each Admin and Manager in your hub gets an email, such as "Jane Sample joined your portal", with a link to the person in Users. To stop inquiries altogether, see Stop clients from sending inquiries.

If something goes wrong

  • "Auto signup is disabled", or "The company does not have auto sign up enabled. Please contact them". Someone used the link while Allow Signup was off. Switch it on, or add them yourself; see Add a client to your hub.
