Connect Stripe to collect invoice payments
Set up a Stripe account and switch on online payments so clients can pay your invoices online.

Clients pay your invoices online through your firm's own Stripe account. You set it up once, from the Admin PanelAdmin Panel The staff-only side of a hub, opened with the Admin button, where the firm manages cases, users, templates, automations and settings., and only an Admin can.
Open Payment Settings
Go to Payments. Payment Settings is below the list of invoices.
Switch on Stripe
Turn on the switch beside Stripe. "Stripe Updated" shows, and an On Board button appears beside it.
Set up your Stripe account
Choose On Board. Stripe opens in a new tab. Follow its steps to add your firm's details and the bank account your payments are paid out to. When you finish, Stripe brings you back to the Admin Panel.
Wait for Stripe's check
Once Stripe has checked your details, On Board becomes Dashboard, which opens your account on Stripe: payments, payouts and fees. Clients can pay online from then on.
What happens next
Clients can pay your published invoices from the Lobby, and each payment goes straight to your Stripe account. Each one carries Stripe's processing fee and a 40¢ CaseActive fee. Both come off before the money reaches your Stripe account, and a refund returns the 40¢.
Turning the switch off stops online payments at once. Your Stripe account stays connected, and turning it back on restarts them.
If something goes wrong
- A client sees "Your law firm can't take payments online right now. Please contact them to pay." Check that the switch beside Stripe is on. If it is, Stripe hasn't finished checking your details: choose On Board to see what it still needs.
- The Stripe page won't open. See Fix a Stripe link that won't open.
