Fix a Stripe link that won't open

What to do when Payments shows Redirection failed instead of opening Stripe onboarding or your Stripe dashboard.

In this article2 sections

You choose On Board or Dashboard under Payment Settings in Payments, and Stripe doesn't open. Payments shows "Redirection failed" with a reason.

Why it happens

Each time you choose On Board or Dashboard, your hub asks Stripe for a new link, which works only once. If you leave a Stripe onboarding page open for a while, Stripe sends you back for a fresh link, and "Redirecting to Stripe" shows while your hub gets one.

"Redirection failed" means Stripe refused to give a link. Usually:

  • Stripe has restricted or rejected your firm's Stripe account, for example while it waits for details or documents.
  • Stripe is having a problem, or your connection dropped.
  • You aren't an Admin of this hub. Only Admins can open Stripe from Payments.

How to fix it

  1. Read the reason under "Redirection failed".
  2. If it's about your Stripe account, look for Stripe's emails to your firm about it. Stripe decides when the account can be used again.
  3. If it's a problem with Stripe or your connection, wait a few minutes and choose the button again.
  4. If you aren't an Admin, ask one to open Stripe for you.
