Understand your plan, trial and billing

How the 14-day trial works, what each plan costs, and what stops working if a payment fails or you cancel.

Each hubHub Your law firm's own client portal, with its branding, its team and all of its cases in one place. has its own subscription. It starts with a free trialTrial The first 14 days of a new hub, before the first payment is taken., then bills a card or bank account monthly or yearly for its plan. If a payment fails, the Admin PanelAdmin Panel The staff-only side of a hub, opened with the Admin button, where the firm manages cases, users, templates, automations and settings. locks at once. If it's still unpaid 14 days later, the LobbyLobby The home screen of the portal, showing your cases, announcements, inquiries and the firm's office locations. becomes read-only for your team and clients.

How it works

The trial. A new hub gets 14 days free, with no card needed. Your first hub starts on Starter, billed monthly; a hub you create later starts on the plan you pick. While no card is on file, Settings › Billing & Subscription counts down the days left, and a few days before the end your hub's Admins get a reminder by email. Adding a card charges nothing until the trial ends.

When the trial ends. The first month or year of your plan is charged to the card or bank account on file. If there isn't one, or the payment fails, the Admin Panel locks until a payment goes through, as below.

Plans. Prices are in US dollars. Yearly billing is two months free.

The pricing page lists what each plan includes. For Enterprise, choose Contact us on its card under Change plan.

Your plan. Your Plan shows the plan, a Trial tag during the trial, the price a month, how often it's billed and the date it renews. View invoices lists what you've been billed. To move to another plan, or between monthly and yearly, see Change your plan.

If a payment fails. The Admin Panel locks for Admins and Managers: every page asks for valid payment information, except Billing & Subscription. Your team and clients keep using the Lobby for 14 days. If the payment still hasn't gone through, the Lobby becomes read-only: everyone can read and download, and clients can pay your invoices, but nothing else can be changed. 3 months later, the hub is scheduled for deletion, and your Admins are emailed before. A working card lifts all of it at once; see Unlock the Admin Panel after a failed payment.

Cancelling. An Admin can choose Cancel subscription on Billing & Subscription. It takes effect when the month or year you've paid for, or the trial, ends. The Admin Panel then locks and the Lobby becomes read-only that same day, and 3 months later the hub is scheduled for deletion unless you restart. See Cancel or restart your subscription. Deleting the hub stops billing at once, and deletes everything after 30 days.

When to use it

Check Billing & Subscription before your trial ends, and add a card or bank account there; see Add or update your payment method. Admins and Managers can see the page, but only an Admin can add a payment method, change the plan or cancel.
