Respond to an appointment invitation
Tell your law firm whether you can attend an appointment, from your portal or by replying to the calendar invitation.

When your law firm invites you to an appointment, such as a meeting or a call, let them know whether you can come. You can answer in your portal, or from your calendar.
Open the appointment
Choose Change Status in the invitation email. Or open your case and, under To DoTo Do The list on a case of things waiting for you, such as forms to fill in, documents to sign or events to confirm., choose Open Task beside it (on a phone, Confirm Event).
You can also open Events, where your appointments are under Upcoming. Choose ⋯ on one, then View details.
Check the details
The appointment shows its date and time, how long it lasts, where it is, and who has said they're coming. Tap an address to open it on a map. For a video call, tap its link when it's time to join; see Join a video call.
Give your answer
Choose Yes, No or Maybe. Your answer saves at once, and you can change it at any time with Attending in the appointment's details. On the Upcoming list, the same choices are under Attending?.
Add it to your calendar
Open the calendar file attached to the invitation email. Or, in the appointment's details, choose Add to calendar, then Google Calendar or iCal File (Universal) for other calendar apps. A repeating appointment adds every date.
If you accept or decline in your calendar app, your answer is saved in the portal too, as long as you answer from the email address your law firm has for you.
What happens next
Whoever set up the appointment is told your answer, and told again if you change it. Before the appointment you get reminders by email, or by text if your law firm has only your phone number. A reminder has no calendar file, since the appointment is already in your calendar. If it changes, you get an updated invitation. If its start time moves, your answer is cleared, so it's back on your To Do for you to answer again. If it's cancelled, you're told that too.
A repeating appointment, such as a weekly call, asks for your answer again for each date.
If something goes wrong
- Your answer from your calendar doesn't show in the portal. It was sent from a different email address. Answer in the portal instead.
Your law firm may have changed what you can do in the portal. If an option described here is missing, ask your firm.
